A Leipzig news report of 23 April 2025 on the club says the Leipzig city chess championships, which the club organises, are held every year in the Ariowitsch-Haus, and that the chess section could use new impetus. The club's own training page lists a Thursday chess hour from 16:00 to 18:00 in the same house (that page carries a 2025 copyright line and no other date).
