About this list

Two monthly blitz tournaments make Thursday the evening for fast games. The Schachverein Saalespringer plays in the Puschkinhaus in Halle on the first Thursday of the month from seven, with 5 November and 3 December 2026 among the dates on its page, and the Schachverein Merseburg holds its open Mampfe-Blitz at the youth centre on one Thursday a month, with 8 October and 12 November 2026 on its page.

In Neukieritzsch the Sportfreunde train from seven to ten in the Schachgalerie of the sports arena, and visitors may try the game. Bad Dürrenberg’s Eintracht trains children and young people from four to six. In Leipzig SV Makkabi keeps a chess hour from four to six in the Ariowitsch-Haus, and from November the Schachzentrum Clara-Zetkin-Park meets on Thursday afternoons in the city library.
